Learning words is related to vocabulary. When we want to learn words we should know the vocabulary. Vocabulary is about learning words, but it is about much more than that. Vocabulary can be split into two types: receptive vocabulary and expressive vocabulary. A child’s receptive vocabulary consists of the words the child understands when he/she hears or reads them. A child’s receptive vocabulary consists of the words the child understands when he/she hears or reads them. A child’s expressive vocabulary consists of the words the child uses when he/she speaks. Children typically understand or recognize more words than they actually use when speaking.
Vocabulary is the basis for learning a language. As children learn to read, they must learn to decode (sound-out) print, but they also must have a vocabulary base (word knowledge) in order to make sense of what they decode.
As a teacher, we can use these things to teach the words to our students. For example, when I was in elementary school, my teacher taught us to use posters. On that poster, there are pictures of animals, fruit, things, and others, and every picture has a name. So my teacher always read each name of the picture, and we should follow after her. After that, my teacher will ask us to memorize the word. From this method, our vocabulary is increased.

That’s all for today. Thank You.
